Love Letters is a play by A. R. Gurney that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The play centers on two characters, Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III. Using the epistolary form sometimes found in novels, they sit side by side at tables and read the notes, letters and cards – in which over nearly 50 years, they discuss their hopes and ambitions, dreams and disappointments, victories and defeats – that have passed between them throughout their separated lives.
Andrew and Melissa are childhood friends whose lifelong correspondence begins with birthday party thank-you notes and summer camp postcards. Romantically attached, they continue to exchange letters through the boarding school and college years. Andrew will be elected senator, and Melissa will never become an artist.
From the beginning to the end of life, we follow the path of two lovers who will never be together. She is rich, frivolous and suffers from depression. Не is poor but hardworking and faces all situations head-on even when he is beset with doubts and risks losing his self-confidence.
The heavy blows of life, successes and failures succeed each other in the rhythm of events and seasons.

The success of this novel is associated with a dramatic story that almost every one of us experienced at least once. The very intimate memories that arise in each of us, and which the actors embody on stage. But this is not so important. For the viewer, this is just an excuse to see these two actors together. It is they who motivate us to come to the theatre, and we admire them more than the play itself.
Ornella Muti is the great and most beautiful Italian actress, famous all over the world. Petar Zekavica is a Serbian actor, director and producer, in this production he is both the main actor and director of the play. The skill of the artists on stage is embodied in the scenes of the premiere production of Love Letters.
